Turner: the Illuminator

Slave-ship Museum of Fine Arts Boston painted by J. M. W. Turner

Slave-ship Museum of Fine Arts Boston painted by J. M. W. Turner

A sweet tormented soul

in a grumpy unrefined body,

looking through the light

with the sight of an angel,

with the hands of a king

in a rainbow kingdom.

He left us the future

in his colored wisdom,

he left us nature

in the art of his vision.

Marina Carresi 2016

When I see what is happening with the refugees I can’t help thinking that if J. M. W. Turner had been alive he would have painted a similar picture.
